I found this article the other day and I thought it pretty interesting. I've been big my entire life. No one could ever accuse me of being skinny. It took me a long time to accept myself for who I am - but now that I have embraced by size - I wouldn't have it any other way.
I challenge any woman of any size to embrace yourself and love the skin you are in. Your weight is only a number and we shouldn't let society judge and pigeon hole us without getting to know us.
At 371 pounds and wearing a size 32 dress, Kristie doesn't look like a conventional beauty queen. But thanks to the Miss Big Beautiful Woman (BBW) International pageant, the 17-year-old is able to celebrate her shape along other plus-size women.
While a positive body image is important, this attitude makes some experts think that the BBW world's attitude toward fat can be seriously damaging to health.
